Phosphate-Solubilizing Bacteria Effect on Seedling Growth
Phosphorus (P) is a macronutrient required for the proper
functioning of plants. Because P plays a vital role in every aspect of plant
growth and development, deficiencies can reduce plant growth and
development. Phosphate-solublizing bacteria (PSB) can turn insoluble
phosphorus rhizosphere into plant-absorbable forms, thereby enhancing plant
growth.
Anand Agro Care
distinguished as the Phosphate solubilizing bacteria suppliers & manufacturers
in Nashik. We adhere to severe quality measure, which ensures that our range of
bio organic and herbal medicine is at par with our client's expectations. Our
product Dr. Bacto’s PSB is
the selective strains of Phosphate Solubilising valuable bacteria of Bacillus.
Our phosphate solubilising bacteria
fertilizers grow and secrete organic acids, which dissolve this unavailable
phosphate into the soluble form and make it available to the plants.
Phosphorus is the world’s second largest nutritional
supplement for crops after nitrogen. On average, soil contains
400–1000 mg kg−1 of total P, of which only 1.00–2.50% is available to
plants for uptake. Phosphorus is
found in mineral as well as organic forms of soil. An adequate supply of phosphorus is essential
for establishing the primordia of plant reproductive parts during the early
phases of plant growth. It plays a significant role in increasing the ramification
and power of the heart, thereby imparting plant vitality and resistance to
disease.
The improvement of plant growth and properties by PSB
may be due to several possible mechanisms. By changing the soil composition,
PSB alters the plasticity of seeds and roots. For example, plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria may improve the solubility of
mineral nutrients by releasing organic acids and thereby increasing the
vegetative biomass and N and P accumulation in plant tissues, simulating plant
growth. This phenomenon, in turn, affects colonization and development of the
bacteria.
The use of phosphate solublizing bacteria
as inoculants simultaneously increases plant and crop yield uptake of P. The
main mechanism for the solubilization of mineral phosphate is the production of
organic acids, and acid phosphatases play an important role in soil
mineralization of organic phosphorus. Several phosphatase encoding genes were
cloned and characterized, and some of the genes involved in the solubilization
of mineral phosphate were isolated. Genetic manipulation of phosphate-solublizing bacteria to
improve their plant growth ability.
