Metarhizium Anisopliae is a fungus that grows naturally in soil and causes various insects. Metarhizium anisopliae is used as a biological insecticide to combat a variety of pests and it is being studied for its use in the control of mosquitoes that spread malaria. When the spore of this fungus comes in contact with the cuticle of the target insect pests, it germinates and grows directly through the spiracle cuticle in to the inner body of the host.
