Effect of Metarhizium Anisopliae in Soil

Metarhizium Anisopliae

Metarhizium anisopliae is a fungus that grows in soils across the world naturally and causes disease in different insects. Spores attach to insect cuticle/teguments, germinate and penetrate the body of the insect and cause mortality through a combination of chemical, mechanical, water loss and nutrient loss. Anand Agro Care is manufacturers, suppliers and exporters of Metarhizium Anisopliae in Nashik, Maharashtra India. In the end, the insect body is covered with green mycelium and spores, which may disperse and cause subsequent infections. Certain toxins, called destruxin, produced by this fungus, also cause insect mortality.

Method of application and dosage

·        Soil Application: For soil insect pest like White Grubs, Termite, Agrotis species etc… Mix 2.0 kg to 4.0 kg Kalichaka with 50 kg of well decomposed fym/compost/field soil and broadcast in the field of 1 acre at the time of field preparation or in standing crop biopesticides metarhizium.

·        Foliar Spray: Mix 2.0 kg Kalichakara, in 150 – 200 litr. of water for spray on insect pest in the standing crop of 1 acre.

Metarhizium anisopliae is an entomopathogenic fungus that infects insects that come into contact with it. Once the fungus spores are attached to the surface of the insect, germinate and begin to grow, they penetrate the exoskeleton of the insect and grow very quickly inside the insect causing the insect to die. Other insects that come into contact with infected insects are also infected with the fungus.

Metarhizium is capable of attacking and killing insects. We have tested the Metarhizium isolate used in a variety of ways to assess its safety for humans and other (non-insect) animals. Metarhizium anisopliae produces a number of secondary metabolites acting as mycotoxins (insecticidal toxins), including DestruxintE, which is considered a new generation insecticide against many aphid species, moth and fly larvae. These toxins are known insecticides against many pests and the rapid development of mycotoxin causes the death of insects.
